My annual Green Woman for 2008. This was a piece I almost threw out at several points in her creation. She was created during the Arts Walk in Bethlehem, I was one of the artists creating on the sidewalk while folks watched. She was a willful thing, I had envisioned her playing the fiddle on a rather cranky mushroom. She told me to bug off. SHe got very filthy on the street and it took so much work to scrape the dirt out of the clay, so she sat half finished for 6 weeks while I did nothing artistic (burned out). When I picked her up again in early August, I was just going to quickly complete her and throw on some silk gauze, just make a boring uninspired fairy to not waste the clay. that wasn't working very well so I was going to just chuck her in the rubbish bin. Then one morning the idea of making this my green woman and sculpting the leaves right onto her was in my head as I woke up. It went smoothly from there. Clearly she wanted to be something other than my plans! I actually sort of like her now and have no desire to chuck her in the bin.
Daily DeviationGiven 2008-11-29Green Woman 2008 by ~elvenelysium is wonderfully executed and positioned, the subtle application of both green hues and a variety of different textures that blend into the skin create an otherwordly feel to the piece. The blue eyes help create a wonderful contrast to the greens, drawing the eye to the pieces almost hypnotic gaze. (Suggested by =Nirelleth and Featured by ^Thebuild) |

A- I'll give you a rock on the head then do what i want to you
B- I always knew you were a neanderthal. But you're worse! You don't even have tools yet!
I'd love to replicate that in a costume.
Beautiful design!

Romans 5:8 : But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
This feels like a romanticist painting
I love this very fine world you have created and the craftsmanship you maintain through out your work is impressive
